What can you do to lower your electricity bill?

When it comes to energy costs, there will always be things that you cannot control. On the flip side, there are things you can control to lower your electricity bill:

  • What electricity plan you’re on: Are you on the right plan for your needs? Or can you switch to something that will better suit your household requirements? You might be surprised at how much you can save just by making one simple change. Speak to your provider to see what options you have.
  • How much do you use: Are your lights always on even when you don’t need them? Are you running a heater on when it’s not that cold, or an aircon when it’s not that hot? Do you know what appliances use the most energy in your home? Are you turning appliances off at the power point if you can? There are a lot of ways to reduce your electricity bills by being more mindful of your daily habits.
  • How energy efficient your appliances are: Did you know that by switching to more energy-efficient appliances you can save a lot of money on your electricity bills? Energy rating labels are there to inform consumers about the energy efficiency of a specific appliance. Essentially, the more stars on the label, the more energy-efficient the appliance is compared to others in its category.
  • Getting solar: Getting solar panels for your house can significantly reduce your electricity bills. Investing in solar power is a smart long-term choice with many rewards. And if you want to see significant savings in your electricity bill, then consider switching to solar. Furthermore, installing solar panels provides an opportunity to take control of your energy consumption and future-proof your home against fluctuating energy prices. As utility costs continue to rise, the value of solar energy becomes increasingly evident, making the decision to transition to solar an economically practical one.

We received quotes from 3 different solar companies, and Tropical Solar was an easy choice. Not only were they very competitively priced, but Hunter was super informative and not pushy at all. Highly recommend 👌
